Kommandant – P. J. Rieckert

Before the first liberation war he was veldcornet of the Elandsriver ward of the Rustenburg district.

P.J. Rieckert was in this position for twelve years.

In February 1882 with three others he was sent to the black leaders of Kalafyn and Gatsisibie and because the was known to them could reach a solution for peace with them.

From  1892 till 1896  he was the receiver of revenue for the Southwestern borders and was then appointed as Commandant of the Border police and also as special justice official.

In the beginning of the war on 27 November 1899  at Derdepoort, he lost all his possesions and escape with only his horse.

He was with his six sons of which two was severely wounded ,and two light wounded and one fatally wounded at most of the battles that Generals De la Rey and Botha took part in.
