Pilgrims Rest – Royal hotel

The three-star Royal Hotel Pilgrim’s Rest is in the picturesque town of Pilgrim’s Rest. This old gold mining town in South Africa’s magnificent Mpumalanga Province. The location of this old Victorian style hotel allows guests to explore the many sightseeing places and attractions on the Panorama Route.

The hotel had been impeccably restored to reflect the historical style of a bygone era. Featuring ten authentic buildings that date back to the latter part of the nineteenth century, the hotel in Mpumalanga offers 50 charming en-suite hotel rooms. Declared a goldfield in 1873, the town of Pilgrim’s Rest became a cosmopolitan centre of activity in South Africa.

When entering the hotel, visitors are immediately taken on a nostalgia-filled trip into the past. The reception walls are decorated with interesting photographs  providing insights into Pilgrim’s Rest’s history.
